The team should be comprised of: At least one team member with 5+ years BI experience At least one team member 5+ years experience Microsoft SQL server database At least one team member 3+ years Microsoft SSIS and SSRS Previous experience with Behavioral Health data BI preferred Ability to perform all work and data storage in the United States Ability to clearly communicate, both in writing and speaking, with DSAMH team This project request is seeking approval of a full life cycle development effort to deliver a reporting data mart built from the existing SAMHIS system to improve the ability to report service activities for mental health and substance abuse across the state. The implementation of appropriate Business Intelligence (BI) reporting capabilities with critical reporting accomplished using a BI tool. This proposed project would require the following improvements: The project must accomplish the following capabilities: ? All data in SAMHIS must be modeled in a new analytics and reporting data mart. This must include all reference tables as well as transactional content. We estimate this would involve creating about ten fact tables to capture Substance Abuse and Mental Health data and about twenty dimension tables. The data mart design will capture annually: o The two (2) million rows of children and adult, Mental Health data; o Approximately 25,000 rows of TEDS admission data; o Approximately 25,000 rows of TEDS discharge data; o Recovery Support data leading from discharges; ? The data mart design must be expressed first through a logical data design and then translated into a physical data design including full attribution of all entities and ensuing physical design into tables and fields. Logical design must be approved by business prior to developing the physical design. ? The resulting design must have at least staging and production environments so that state staff can vet aggregated counts in the staging environment prior to pushing the data to the production environment. ? The developing contractor must thoroughly understand and demonstrate full working knowledge of the data and processes that currently support existing SAMHIS database and source the new data mart directly from existing database without disrupting current operations or modifying its existing design. ? The data design that is recommended must support comprehensive BI reporting by both developers and business staff. ? The data mart must be fully populated to include all SAMHIS data critical to services reporting (90% of SAMHIS database tables).
