The role will focus on the tactical execution of the program, including building, promoting, and implementing policies, standards, and procedures. The candidate will have the opportunity to help transform the organization at the leadership level and across the data governance community. • Facilitates initiatives and working groups for specific initiatives such as data privacy and security • Implements data quality initiatives including identification of critical data elements, data certification, and systems for quality measurement and monitoring • Drives implementation and support design of DG knowledge management tools and solutions including data dictionary, business glossary, report inventory, and metadata management General Summary: IT DBA ? Lead manages teams and drives overall vision according to the teams goals. IT DBA ? Lead maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. IT DBA ? Lead implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. IT DBA ? Lead also designs and builds relational databases for data storage or processing; develops strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery. Level Expectations: Possess an expert level knowledge of the tools and processes required by the role Manage efforts affecting large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional/platform environments Typically spend majority of time providing direction across large teams at all levels but capable of solid individual performance when required Share knowledge, coach, and mentor others in area of expertise Ability to perform functions at all levels of a process Will serve as technical lead in area of expertise Will have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of others Possess excellent communication and relationship skills Comfort ability interfacing with ESI director level management for technical briefings, status reports, etc. Essential Functions: Implement complex or non-routine data models and database designs and data access and table maintenance codes Implement changes into development, QA and production environments and monitor database and system performance Resolve complex database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues Confer and advises on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods Consult with application development teams and advises them of the correct usage of appropriate data manipulation techniques Responsible for space management, backup, monitoring and maintaining ongoing performance of databases and develops updates or modifications according to business needs. Monitor and review the work of other database administrators to ensure correct practices and procedures Provide assistance to IT team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or database knowledge.
