During the lifetime of these systems, new state statutes, federal regulations, and mandates have triggered changes in the demands of, and rules related to, basic business processes, systems and/or system interfaces. These changes were essential to the continuity of FDOT business. Included in these changes were the development of local computing applications and a reporting infrastructure by the OOC Systems Support Section to address core functional needs and to facilitate complex reconciliations with the 150 systems interfacing with FM. OOC also manages over 50 interfaces with the Department of Financial Services Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system. Efforts to define the “universe” specific to the support required by the OOC Systems Support Section resulted in over 300 applications being identified. In addition, there are over 1,600 members in the OOC production library used by these OOC applications. As with the systems identified in the financial management inventory, many of the OOC local and reporting applications utilize a technology that is either outdated or considered non-strategic by the department. Problem Statement: As part of the WPII and Florida PALM projects, impact to the OOC application “universe” must be determined and the applications must be replaced or modified to interface with the departments new financial management systems solution and the State of Floridas statewide accounting and financial management systems solution. The selected candidate will assist the Business System Administration Manager and Senior Business Systems Analysts within the OOC Systems Support Section in the definition, documentation and determination of the resolution of the OOC application “universe”. The selected candidate may also be assigned to analyze and document other financial related systems owned by OOC or assist in addressing the backlog of maintenance requests for applications owned by OOC. 5 Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or financial related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience A minimum of 5 years of business systems analysis experience, with specific emphasis in business process modeling, data flow analysis and data conversion activities. 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The submitted candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks. Duties of the selected candidate will include, but not be limited to: 1. Participate in efforts to define the impact on reporting and local computing applications as a result of WPII and Florida PALM. Produce written deliverables including, but not limited to: business process diagrams and narratives, requirements, specifications and business or technical analyses; 2. Detail data element inputs and outputs with other systems interfacing with OOC maintained applications. Inputs can include manual data entry, direct access to other systems, and batch uploads. Outputs can include data extracts, direct access to data from other systems, and reports; 3. Prepare specifications in order to communicate Office of Comptroller functional requirements and address dependencies with other interfacing computer applications.
