Due to an unprecedented period of growth, we have a CONTRACT PROJECT position opportunity in the SACRAMENTO, CA area for a SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR. Role/Responsibilities: The selected candidate will work with internal IT staff to provide knowledge, skills, and experience as SQL Server Database Administrator. Candidate will be responsible for database installation, upgrades, configuration, performance tuning, maintenance, and support of complex mission-critical relational systems and application software supporting the remote servers within all departments. Maintain and update existing database schemas, data dictionary and other database-related documentation. Work to support and trouble-shoot data-related issues. Provide technical expertise to departments in their integration of databases and development of complex projects Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years demonstrated experience with all phases of computer systems and database administration. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and SQL. Ability to integrate databases with Oracle, MS SQL or similar RDMS Proficient with database system and database management fundamentals and understanding of database design, and OLTP vs. DW database normalization Versed in developing and implementing database schemas, backup strategies, data usage analysis, database hits, and periodic and ad hoc reports. Proven ability to create and open up very complex stored procedures/triggers and debug. Experience in working with various database instances such as dev, test, stage and prod. Optimize Schemas (Databases) utilizing multiple techniques Extensive in-depth experience with the RDBMS systems and SQL is required for the incumbent to perform complex analysis of application requirements, database design, develop monitoring scripts and tune performance. Experience supporting databases within UNIX HPUX operating system environments.
