The duties of a VA analyst will include providing vulnerability assessment and source code review services through a comprehensive testing process, as well as identifying weaknesses and vulnerabilities within the system and proposing/implementing countermeasures. Commercial and open source vulnerability assessment tools/utilities are leveraged during these assessments. The majority of the team has achieved industry standard security certifications (CISSP, CEH, GIAC, etc) over time and we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn. Primary Job duties: Perform application scanning and review using analysis tools Validate automated testing results and prioritize based on overall risk Perform manual analysis of applications for security vulnerabilities Verify findings as needed via manual testing on applications Write formal security assessment report for each application, using our companys standard reporting format Participate in conference calls with clients to review your assessment results and consult with the clients on remediation options Retest security vulnerabilities that have been fixed and republishing your report to indicate the results of your retesting. Participate in conference calls with potential clients to scope out newly requested projects and estimate the amount of time required to complete the project. Qualifications Education/ certifications: University Degree from an accredited college or university is required Security certification such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, etc. is preferred but not required Technical skills: Experience performing manual web application security testing and exploit experience above and beyond running automated tools. 3-5 years of experience developing web applications, preferably enterprise-level financial e-commerce, or business applications that face the Internet. Development and/or source code review experience in C/C++, C#, VB.NET, or Java. Knowledge of the HTTP protocol and how it works. (required) Experience using vulnerability testing tools. Experience with web application firewalls and filters. Soft Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to do hands-on, highly technical work. Strong customer focus. Desire to learn new things and become a participant in the local information security community. Keeps up to date with latest industry techniques, tools and research.
