Job Description: One of our large telecom clients has a need for a contract RF Engineer. The contractor must be able to work at one of the following locations: Bedford (preferred), Knoxville, Greenville, Roanoke, or Tulsa The RF Engineer is responsible for the design and optimization of new and existing cellular facilities while meeting capacity needs. Seeks total Customer Satisfaction through meeting subscriber demand and improving call quality. Solicits input from System Performance Engineers, Network Engineering, and Network Operations to achieve this goal The RF Engineer is responsible for the design and optimization of new and existing cellular facilities while meeting capacity needs. Seeks total Customer Satisfaction through meeting subscriber demand and improving call quality. Solicits input from System Performance Engineers, Network Engineering, and Network Operations to achieve this goal Responsibilities •Budgeting: off-load requirements, coordinate with Network Engineering, System Performance Engineers, and Network Operations to support the budgeting process and maintain capacity margins. •Capacity: Monitor jointly with System Performance, and Network Operations. Informs Network Engineering of engineering requirements, coordinates activities towards timely installation of solutions. •Cell Design: RF design (LTE overlay design, coverage, capacity, frequency planning with neighboring markets), budget analysis and coordinate and review site integration process. •RF Performance Assessment: Work directly with System Performance Engineers to review drive test data as well as network operational measures, and prioritize trouble areas. •Frequency and Extension coordination: Coordinate and analyze incoming/outgoing frequency plans and extension agreements with neighboring carriers. •Modification Design: Design and implement system changes which improve or sustain quality performance of the network in a timely and effective fashion. Develop design modification options and a recommended solution. Also, to provide support and coordination of projects with System Performance Engineers, Network Operations and Network Engineering. •Communications: Maintain communications between all departments to promote open dialog to provide improvements to the customers experience. •Projects: Lead and or participate in departmental related projects defining or refining processes and procedures. Qualifications •BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience •Experience in cellular/PCS design and optimization CDMA experience is •Experience with propagation tool (Planet EV) •Proficient in MapInfo and Excel •Capacity (traffic) planning experience desired •PN Planning experience desired •Site/Network optimization experience desired •Excellent verbal and written communication skills Work Experience Required •RF Engineer: 2 to 4 years relevant work experience   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
