Job Description: Title: DevOps Azure Engineer Location: Houston, TX (remote for now but needs to be in Houston eventually) Length: Contract to Hire RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be primarily responsible for the management, deployment, operation and maintenance of cloud services and related tools in Azure and Google. The responsibilities include, Managing, building and maintaining Services, resources, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and providing guidance, best practices and design concepts for cloud development In addition, responsibilities include supporting deployed cloud services, automating processes and acting as an escalation point or SME for complex technical issues or troubleshooting. This includes analyzing repetitive and troublesome issues to determine trends, opportunities for proactive action, and recommendations for continuous improvement. This position will also provide support, mentoring, guidance and technical development (seminars, documentation, instructions) to other IT or Organization staff, including working with others one on one and in group settings. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems. 2. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and facilitate improvements based on root cause analysis and across multiple disciplines. 3. 5+ years of relevant experience including experience in Azure, Google Cloud is preferred. 4. Experience with CI/CD technologies (Jenkins / GitLab / Azure DevOps, Terraform ... etc.). 5. Prior application development experience in Java/JavaScript/Python/.NET, and familiarity with build processes for each. 6. Prior experience in multiple IT disciplines - Networking, Servers and Storage Hardware and Windows Server OS. 7. Hands on experience with building and maintaining infrastructure and services in major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS). 8. Hands-on experience working with Docker and Kubernetes (GKS, AKS, EKS). 9. Have experience in application reliability and monitoring concepts and tools. 10. Operations experience deploying applications to cloud (IaaS or PaaS). 11. Self-starter with the ability to manage projects and other tasks under minimal supervision. 12. Must be a team player, with exceptional communication skills, willing to work with others in the group and the rest of the IT organization 13. Ability to identify and implement initiatives to improve the IT environment. 14. Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. ADDITIONAL / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
