Candidates must have the experience and ability to lead a small project with limited direction. Candidates work directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. Candidates designs, codes, tests and documents computer programs. Candidates have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications development and the development technologies utilized. Candidates provide production support for large, complex applications including the ability to resolve problems in constrained timeframes. Candidates may be responsible for mentoring less experienced team members. Candidates will manage small-to-medium projects or components of larger projects. Candidates have strong organization, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience must be current within the last year. Candidates have strong written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills: * Associate Degree in IT related field of study or equivalent. * Must have the ability to perform development and enhancements for a large complex computer system. Ability to maintain existing code and develop new code, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Must have seven– (7) or more years development experience with COBOL II/COBOL 390 accessing DB2 databases in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment, using checkpoint/restart techniques for batch applications. Software development experience must be current (within the last year) and must be in support of a large-scale, complex application system. * Must have seven– (7) or more years experience with relational databases, including logical design, understanding of physical design components, and complex SQL accessing a large, complex application database. * Must have seven– (7) or more years working experience in SQL programming with DB2. * Must have seven– (7) or more years of mainframe and complex CICS applications development experience. * Must have ability to support full life cycle testing for a large complex computer system. * Must have working knowledge of the following development / testing utilities: TSO, Abend-AID, File-AID, DB2 Load & Unload, Syncsort. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to gather and provide information effectively, regardless of audience. * Must be able to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills. Must be service oriented with strong interpersonal skills with all levels of business and technical staff. * Demonstrated analytical skills that include working directly with business staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. * Must be able to perform analysis and create supporting technical documentation. * Must have good overall PC skills including the use of Microsoft Office products * Strong organization, planning, problem solving, and decision making skills. Comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. * Must be able to operate effectively within existing development environments and processes, yet offer process improvement suggestions. * Must be a self-starter and self-motivated. Must be able to quickly learn and apply new technology. * Must have the ability to lead a small project with limited direction.
