Description :

The client seek a Senior Information Assurance Specialist will be part of a large project team that is responsible for supporting the mission and all aspects of an information security program for a civilian agency located in Washington, D.C. The goal of the team is to formalize the program with governance; perform analysis and technical reviews of systems, document repeatable processes/procedures that deliver consistent results; and develop performance measures that will be used to measure program effectiveness and maturity.

The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills and oversight to determine enterprise information assurance and security standards. The candidate will lead efforts to develop and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures, recommend information assurance/security solutions to support customers requirements, identify, report, and resolve security violations, support customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies, and apply know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.

Additionally, the candidate will also possess in-depth knowledge of applying, selecting and testing the NIST family of security controls and information security principals and shall ensure required cyber security policies are adhered to and that required controls are implemented.

Note: Resource must be available to work onsite at client facility in downtown Washington D.C. No remote work.

Required Skills:
10-years or more of relevant experience:
Perform certification and accreditation (C&A)/security assessments and authorizations (SA&A) of new systems and policies.
Conduct near-real-time enterprise risk assessments utilizing the enterprise tool suite Risk Performance Management System and other data sources.
Establish and satisfy complex system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
Conduct testing and assessments of systems with complex system boundaries including a mixture of Linux and Windows as well as other commercial off-the-shelf tools are used for security monitoring.
Support the development of IT strategic plans and Enterprise Architecture plans and technology roadmaps.
Assist in the development and delivery of cyber security training for IT professionals, end user training, and situational based trained.
Written and oral communication skills (ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff)
Experience applying, analyzing and assessing information systems and security controls (NIST SP 800-53, Rev 4),
Experience with FedRAMP, Cloud technologies, and XACTA.

Preferred Skills:
CISSP, CISM or equivalent advanced security certification
Working knowledge/understanding of CMMI
Working knowledge/understanding of ITIL

Additional Provisions
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
Once candidates resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
All candidates must be a US Citizen, have permanent residence status (Green Card), or H1B-Visa.
Candidate must have resided in the United States for the past five years.
