Prominent issues to address include vendor restriction of maximum 500 records per data fetch, and reliable, simple input of often reset report creator validated keys. Coordinate work with HCQC biostatistician, HCQC Program Staff, and IT staff as necessary to implement project. Provides training and consultation to staff on the use of PBI, as needed. Documents table key relationships and appropriateness of content in the new iQIES relational database schema, and how they relate to the previous RDMS schema as found in ASPEN. Provide the schema in format viewable by staff. Assists staff in understanding the differences and how to apply when creating reports. Design, build and test PBI M language scripts to extract data from iQIES, transform data into Aithent format and load in to Aithent (States facility license database). This is to replace the current system that uses an intermediary step involving an SFTP server that will be retired. Recognize and solve any limitations. Recreate all existing reports (Crystal Reports, front end reports from a federal database, licensing reports from SQL licensing database, EXCEL, and any other applicable data sources) and create new custom reports, as required, in the PowerBI platform. Ensure that appropriate staff can run reports. Ensure that the technical design document for each report captures all necessary information to allow others to recreate if needed, such as, but not limited to, tables, key relationships, filters, audience, and any other critical information. Create several base templates of mixed data source PBI files. Templates would address common data views/lakes addressing issues such as easy tracking of federal inspection work, exporting of large data sets (> 500k records), and ease of data access for the all PBI output options. Assisting staff in creating reports and training them how to use PBI to run reports, including all aspects of data presentation, DAX based data manipulation, and any other tools as needed. Creating all associated documentation for the process to be independent of any one person, allowing for smooth utilization once this position concludes the scope of requirements. This represents the technical design documentation (TDD), tracking and change logs. The report master list will have links to each reports TDD, the reports base script file, and any other appropriate resource, as needed. Create any necessary HCQC data related policies and procedures. Identifying any gaps in our data process to fully utilize PowerBI and help fill those gaps. Provide recommendations for implementation and maintenance procedures for the use of PowerBI to ensure robust, reliable, valid reports that can address and recover from any point of failure. Test and assist with implementation of PowerBI into the Bureau of Health Quality and Compliance in a manner that will allow HCQC to produce reports that meet the needs of all stakeholders, federal, state, vendors and public. Addresses regulatory compliance, data validity and ease of use. Ability to interview system users to identify needs or concerns to be addressed.
