This upgrade will impact multple sytems: The Social Services Enterprise Control System (EPICS), the Common Name Database System (CNDS, and INSYNC, which is comprised of multiple systems related to child welfare. All changes to this application and its infrastructure must be addressed in a professional manner using the System Development Life Cycle methodology to ensure success and to meet the business needs of the Department. Required Skills: This resource should have experience in the programming of application systems; Knowledge of structured programming techniques and various softwares to include: • DB2, COOL:Gen/CA:GEN, Report Composer , MQ series, Object Oriented Design. • Previous upgrade experience with the conversion of COOLGEN model 6.5 or above is required. • Exp with structured system development methodologies, data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and mainframe to servers and distributed server environments in a statewide (preferred) environment. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time mgmt skills. • Ability to produce technical procedures and documentation for applications including maintenance and operations, disaster recovery plans, user guides, and training materials. • Ability to translate and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-IT business users; ability to develop relationships/ partnerships with customers • Min 3-5 years of full life-cycle development exp for applications using CA:GEN 6.5 and above and Report Composer exp * Exp in business requirements definition, review of functional specifications, development of test plans, testing, user training, and deployment * Exp installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining and developing applications in a mainframe environment * Extensive expertise in Problem Analysis and Issue Resolution * Working knowledge of CA:GEN 6.5 * Graduation from a 4 yr college or university and 5 yrs exp in business applications development. Exp in the field of work related to the positions role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis Desired Skills: * COBOL, CICS, Zeke, XPTR, and CA Tools and utilities * Knowledge and experience with State Government systems * Knowledge of IBM Websphere Enterprise Service Bus * Prior experience in programming application systems such as EPICS, CNDS, and Child Welfare applications is a plus.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
