Installs new computers, loads appropriate software, and sets up network printers for customer use. Resolves incoming requests for service and support from the DOT Service Desk for a designated area of responsibility. Uses technical expertise and understanding of business needs to evaluate and resolve IT incident and problem service desk tickets. Has significant technical knowledge to help solve complex problems. Responsible for meeting specific service levels. Responsible for communication with customers on status of open requests. Works closely with other areas of Information Technology. Required Skills: * Skilled in different types of computer hardware, peripherals and components * Skilled in COTS software installation * Skilled in local and networked printer installation and repair * Ability to work independently on task and monitor progress against defined parameters. * Ability to serve as a productive team member by completing assigned tasks. * Basic knowledge of technical area demonstrated by understanding general principles and practices of the work unit. * Ability to resolve routine problems based on documentation, training, and other resources. * Ability to solicit relevant information from client to sufficiently describe problems to a technical expert, and effectively communicate solution. * Candidate will need to be able to lift 50 pounds   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
