Will be contacted via telephone Description : Scope of the Project: Candidate should possess a project lead level of knowledge of multiple database management systems to include IBM DB2 and preferable CA-IDMS. Candidate must be able to install, maintain and troubleshoot DB2 in an IBM z/OS environment as well as architect and implement solutions. Knowledge of utility programs, assemblers, database trouble shooting practices and the ability to identify and resolve problems is required. Ability to work independently and to work outside of the normal work hours as needed is required. Daily Duties / Responsibilities: Project lead level architecture, implementation, support and administration of the IBM DB2 in an IBM z/OS environment. Employee must work independently and lead the planning and completion of diverse database and infrastructure tasks, meeting imposed timelines, daily duties will include, but are not limited to the following: -- Install, modify and maintain database software. Coordinate installation of maintenance and migration to new database releases with outside agency customers. -- Assist the DB2 and IDMS customer agencies with database related issues. Help them to successfully implement their databases and address database related issues. -- Formalize database standards, working with all groups to insure that all phases of the database and client/server interfaces adhere to documented standards. Work with all groups to ensure that database functions and interfaces meet standards. -- Design database integrities so as to ensure that system security is maintained. Ensure the protection of user databases and systems from unauthorized or accidental use or destruction.
