Experience with IDS/IPS such as McAfee NSM and Albert Sensors (Intrusion Detection Systems / Intrusion Prevention Systems) Orion SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog monitoring and analysis for firewall troubleshooting and configuration Demonstrated experience with vulnerability assessment, using tools such as Nexpose Experience configuring and maintaining VPN tunnels using Cisco ASA and Pulse Experience using QRadar or other similar SIEM log monitoring tools Experience configuring and monitoring with ForeScout CounterAct for Network Access Control Specific security tool set that is in use at MDOT: Palo Alto Firewall Cisco ASA – firewall / VPN QRadar – enterprise SIEM tools Nexpose - used for vulnerability assessment/reporting CounterAct - Network Access Control (NAC) Entrust – two-factor authentication McAfee NSM - manager for the IPS/IDS sensors Pulse Secure – SSL VPN, web portal Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) – wireless security Qualifications: Education: This position requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline. If applicable, the candidate must be certified as network engineer for the specific network operating system as defined in by the State. The certification criteria are determined by the network operating system vendor. (Active CCNA certification) General Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least nine (9) years of experience in a computer-related field. Specialized Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least seven (7) years of progressive experience in planning, designing, implementation, and analyzing data or telecommunications networks. This individual must have experience with network analysis/management tools and techniques and be familiar with Personal Computers (PCs) in a client/server environment.
