The Linux System Administrator will be responsible to manage a High-Performance Computing (HPC) platform (System) consisting of a Linux cluster with the following specifications: Linux cluster, Lustre file system, Infiniband interconnection fabric between compute nodes and storage, Ethernet fabric used for command and control of the cluster, PBS Pro job scheduler and Open Source development environment. The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of System operation, including: • Loading CentOS and additional operations and development software • Configuration of the operating system for production and cybersecurity policy compliance • PBS Pro job scheduler maintenance and operation • File system configuration and maintenance • System hardware and software maintenance and monitoring • System troubleshooting, repair and recovery • User account management • System backup and data archival • System shutdown, boot and software updates • Report system status to local site manager and customer • Creation of automated tasks to support efficient system operation • Configuration of network interfaces, local system firewalls, and basic network knowledge • Working with other Center team members to support efficient system and facility operations The incumbent will be working in a TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) environment.
