Required Skills: * Associate or Bachelors Degree in IT related field of study or equivalent. * Must have the ability to perform development and enhancements for a large complex computer system. Ability to maintain existing code and develop new code, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Must have seven– (7) or more years development experience with COBOL II/COBOL 390 accessing DB2 databases in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment, using checkpoint/restart techniques for batch applications. Software development experience must be current (within the last year) and must be in support of a large-scale, complex application system. * Must have seven– (7) or more years experience with relational databases, including logical design, understanding of physical design components, and complex SQL accessing a large, complex application database. * Must have seven– (7) or more years working experience in SQL programming with DB2. * Must have seven– (7) or more years of mainframe and complex CICS applications development experience. * Must have three - (3) or more years of recent experience leading a team of 3-5 staff members with limited direction. * Must have ability to support full life cycle testing for a large complex computer system. * Must have working knowledge of the following development / testing utilities: TSO, Abend-AID, File-AID, DB2 Load & Unload, Syncsort. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to gather and provide information effectively, regardless of audience. * Must be able to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills. Must be service oriented with strong interpersonal skills with all levels of business and technical staff. * Demonstrated analytical skills that include working directly with business staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. * Must be able to perform analysis and create supporting technical documentation. * Must have good overall PC skills including the use of Microsoft Office products * Strong organization, planning, problem solving, and decision making skills. Comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. * Must be able to operate effectively within existing development environments and processes, yet offer process improvement suggestions. * Must be a self-starter and self-motivated. Must be able to quickly learn and apply new technology.
