Key responsibilities Design and write COBOL code to extract property tax data for conversion from CLTs OASIS and CAMA to Manatrons GRM and CustomCAMA (standard flat file format provided by Manatron). Review, clarify, and finalize conversion requirements created by business unit during mapping sessions, resolving any vague or incomplete requirements. Review conversion results returned by the vendor, Manatron, and determine necessary changes to business rules and extract programs. Track all change requests and identified issues in the projects Change Management and Issues Log Analyze conversion requirements and rules to propose alternative methods for extracting data from the legacy database into the vendors import format. Other related duties as assigned by the City supervisor(s) and management. Participate in all project team meetings. Regularly communicate status to the project management team. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications 5+ years of design, programming, and testing experience in COBOL based application development (including JCL, VSAM, Mainframe tool set etc). Strong analytical, programming, debugging, and defect resolution skills. Experience providing troubleshooting and maintenance support of COBOL systems. Experience supporting a large data conversion project from legacy to relational database. Able to reverse engineer to understand legacy COBOL system design with minimal direction. Solid written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions; Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment with a wide variety of technical and business personnel.
