POSITION SUMMARY: The main purpose of this position is to be a top expert in a breadth of highly specialized phases of application / database development. This seasoned person provides technical expertise on complex projects and tasks as well as devises or modifies existing applications to improve performance and scalability. The Senior Developer will be responsible for analyzing, programming, documenting, debugging, and testing applications in the development environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: In depth understanding of technologies, procedures, and concepts within specialized area. Expert knowledge of relational database concepts, including interacting with databases from client applications using DB2 stored procedures. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Knowledge of XML, JAVA, and WebServices are a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent organizational skills. Great attention to detail. Experience with using source control systems such as MKS. Ability to write source-code control customization code is a plus. Financial Services background is strongly preferred. Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook. Expert level proficiency with COBOL and CL programming or with C++/ OOP programming. Intermediate level proficiency with DB2 databases. Expert level proficiency with API-JMS communication. Intermediate level proficiency with source control systems. Intermediate level proficiency with Windows operating systems and AS400 mainframes. 3-5 years xxperience using IBM iSeries/AS400 with hands on coding is a must! MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 7+ years programming experience using COBOL or C++/OOP required. Experience using IBM iSeries/AS400 environment preferred.
