Analyzes workflow chart and diagram, applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic. Confers with supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Converts detailed logical flow chart to language processed by computer. Enters program codes into computer system. Inputs test data into computer. Observes computer monitor screen to interpret program operating codes. Corrects program errors, using methods such as modifying program or altering sequence of program steps. Writes instructions to guide operating personnel. May work with Systems Analyst to obtain and analyze project specifications and flow charts. May direct and coordinate work of others to write, test, and modify computer programs. Working Title: Senior Cold Fusion Programmer Required Knowledge & Experience: - 8+ years development experience - 3+ years experience with programming web based applications - Experience working from specifications and holding to a solid change process - Experience in coding unit testing for software components - Experience in code review processes and enforcement - Understanding how to translate business rules to well defined and documented development artifacts - IT experience working in large complex private or public sector organizations Required Skills & Abilities: - Expert development experience with Cold Fusion and Cold Box - Unit testing skills - Good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills - Good documentation skills - Demonstrated initiative in delivery of well structured and documented code - Code reviewing skills - Actively manages the coding documentation to ensure changes are made properly and integrated for maintainability - Ability to work independently - Handles confidential information appropriately - Meets tight timelines - Attention to detail - Analytical with a strong work ethic - Problem solving skills Desirables: - Cross platform integration tools for the IBM Mainframe platform include MQSeries, WebCICS and Micro Focus - Experience with coding to specifications - Experience with government agency programs - Experience with systems engineering activities - Experience working with IT technical team members and understands IT terminology - Good communication skills and a customer service focus - Adheres to government agency standards and templates - Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, and project management to meet specifications - Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information to guide the development team to a decision - Initiative and accountability for achieving results   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
