The overall design has been completed and the software components and interfaces have been defined and mostly coded. The person in this contract position must have expert knowledge of Cold Fusion and Cold Box, along with expert level experience participating in the development of large cross-platform applications, to focus on the job of generating the code to the specified timelines and quickly correcting errors. The contractor will be expected to participate in a full functional project team to meet the tight deadlines with the use of Unit Testing and code reviews to ensure that the interfaces are held to specifications. Responsibilities: - Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate the development of scheduled software components - Develop and consistently run Unit Testing on changed software components - Management of Code Reviews - Correction of defects as they are found - Regular status reporting - Correction of Specification as documentation defects are found Required Skills: - Expert development experience with Cold Fusion and Cold Box - Unit testing skills - Good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills - Good documentation skills - Demonstrated initiative in delivery of well structured and documented code - Code reviewing skills - Actively manages the coding documentation to ensure changes are made properly and integrated for maintainability - Ability to work independently - Handles confidential information appropriately - Meets tight timelines - Attention to detail - Analytical with a strong work ethic - Problem solving skills Desired Skills: - Cross platform integration tools for the IBM Mainframe platform include MQSeries, WebCICS and Micro Focus - Experience with coding to specifications - Experience with government agency programs - Experience with systems engineering activities - Experience working with IT technical team members and understands IT terminology - Good communication skills and a customer service focus - Adheres to government agency standards and templates - Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, and project management to meet specifications - Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information to guide the development team to a decision - Initiative and accountability for achieving results Required Knowledge & Experience: - 8+ years development experience - 3+ years experience with programming web based applications - Experience working from specifications and holding to a solid change process - Experience in coding unit testing for software components - Experience in code review processes and enforcement - Understanding how to translate business rules to well defined and documented development artifacts - IT experience working in large complex private or public sector organizations   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
