Job Description Developer: SQL Scripting, SQL Tuning, DB2, DBA

DB2 DBA for Mainframe Platform (z/os)

This position is to lighten the load for the current staff of senior DBAs who have been assingned to a very significant New Initiative. The consultant will not be working on the new initiative but rather supporting the existing Production and Operational DBA work.

He is looking for a middle of the road DBA who can handle moderately complex DBA tasks (But he realizes that the market for DBAs is typically Well seasoned)
Tasks mentioned for illustrative purposes include:
Taking a Data model and transforming it into a Database
SQL Scripting
SQL tuning
Knowing and using various DB2 Utilities (ie Backup and Disaster Recovery)
They area a CA shop so experience with CA tools is a nice to have

Last thing he looks for is cultural fit
Role is currently 6 months but it may go long
Initially the person would support normal hours of business operation but may move into the on call rotation and Prod Support if the role goes beyond 6 months

Consultant will sit at Red Run

Rate: Tyson has not had a requirement in this space out for some time so he is looking to the vendors for what the market rate will be. When he had a position out a few years back he recalled Bill rates around $110. With that said he understands that with such a small labor market in this space the 3-4 individuals who are available at a given time dramatically influence what the market rate is so the corresponding Bill Rates could fluctuate greatly.
