Tasks include but not limited to db backup maintenance, setting and responding to up DB alerts, monitoring DB instances and replication heartbeats. The position also involves interacting with internal customers supporting external customers, corporate and vendor IT staffs to provide world-class production support. The position requires creating and maintaining documentation for all of our database environments. The position also requires the installation and upgrade of new and existing database platforms including the application of database patching for specific database versions. The position will be part of the DB operations team that ensures all database environments are up, running and in optimal condition as part of our SLA agreement with our customers. The position will be "on-call" for off-hours support and deployments as needed. The position will also be asked to perform DB script deployments as part of our ongoing Change Management Process. Our client is in the process of migrating to the latest and greatest Cloud technologies, while supporting cutting-edge products as well as Big Data analysis and next generation data science. Strong Candidate Requirements: Bachelors Degree (Information Technology or related is preferred but not required) or 2+ years relevant and equivalent experience Minimum 2+ years experience in administration for SQL Server and/or MySQL databases Minimum 2+ years experience installing and maintaining database environments. Minimum 2+ years experience in writing, optimizing and deploying SQL scripts Minimum 2+ years experience in managing security and access to databases and database environments. Graduate technical degree Experience in Scrum/Agile methodology Ability to work with a vibrant team of DBAs, System Administrators and Network Administrators Knowledge of scripting in either Linux or Windows environment Documentation skills and use or tools like Visio, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Excel.
