DESCRIPTION :

Skills Required
*Experience with Oracle Spatial
*Provide support for growing Oracle Spatial needs, including installation, tuning and trouble shooting
*Assist in the implementation of Oracle Statewide Standards
*Experience with Oracle 11g , 12c
*Working knowledge of DDL, DML, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints and cursors
*Proficiency with Oracle performance tuning
*Proficiency with database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN..
*Ability to analyze and design physical databases and their definitions
*Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing
*Experience with installation, configuration and upgrades of vendor-supplied software, including contacting vendor on enhancements and problems.
*Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
*Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills
*Able to work independently and deliver high quality results when given a set of requirements
*Experience with Oracle on Solaris

Skills Preferred
*Experience managing databases up to 10+ TB
*Knowledge of Shell Scripting
*Knowledge of EMC and NetApp SAN hardware
*Knowledge/Experience with database appliances
*data guard, compression, backup tools.

Experience Required
Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering; or a Bachelors degree in a related field appropriate for the assignment plus five years of experience.
*1+ years experience with spatial models and algorithms
*2-4 years Oracle Spatial programming experience
*3-7 years Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming experience
