DNS/Linux Administrator My client is seeking an experienced DNS and Linux Systems Administrator. This position will handle a variety of responsibilities including: configuring, monitoring and maintaining ISC BIND for Domain name Services in a dynamic, virtualized RedHat Linux environment. A successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of DNS, DNSSEC, zone delegation, ISC BIND 9.x and RHEL. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable working in a team environment and willing to work flexible hours. On-call and after hours Under broad direction, acts as a technical or project lead. Provides leadership towards the design, development and implementation of solutions to meet the clients needs. Applies strong business skills and methodologies to interpret information and deliver solutions to the client. Exhibits a deep understanding of Domain Name Services and the ISC BIND implementation of the services, including security, scalability and high availability. Responsibilities: Operations and maintenance of existing DNS infrastructure. Experienced in large scale Production Support Server Environments, including: o Handling Data Center Operations with Business & Mission Critical applications o Handling escalated incidents or high critical tickets o Predicting Risk/Impact and Participating in Major Changes o Reporting, Performance and Capacity Planning Able to work with Venders and Developers to implement application requirements Technical Transition & Documentation skills Requirements: Education: Minimum bachelors degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise. Work closely with project team members to understand program office requirements, review design documents, and provide release support and architecture planning. Must be able to create own solution architecture and target configurations and diagnose potential issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively with core project team members, team leads and client director-level resources.
