Submission Deadline : 5/12/2017 5.00pm Client : CalPERS Description : The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD) has requested assistance from Contractor name to provide Senior Application Developer for the CalPERS Education Center redesign. The CalPERS Education Center was initially launched in 2008 as a web-based solution to enable member and employer education through instructor-led or online curriculum. It also allows members to schedule appointments at the CalPERS Regional Office. The application allows CalPERS Staff to manage classes and appointment times, create class rosters and evaluation forms and generate a widevariety of reports. Since launch, changing business needs have prompted an effort to redesign the solution to better enable self-service for both external and internal users. This redesign effort is a multi-year project which began in July 2015. The work primarily involves with application & data architecture and design and development of Customer Education Center (CEC). The consultant may be required to support existing applications as well as based on the workload which include but not limited to myToolBox, my|CalPERS Members Self Service and my|CalPERS General domain. The consultant will be responsible for System analysis of new enhancements and defects; system architecture design; data architecture; conversion; data validation; Java application code development; system defect analysis and resolution; report and batch application development and support and unit testing. Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing analytical work; defining technical requirements; creating or updating existing technical design artifacts for online, batch, report and interface processes, business rules, forms, reports; analyzing data and providing data SQL query fixes, and implementation and release communication activities. Consultant responsibilities also include ensuring that all work performed under this agreement will comply with CalPERS Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Consultant support activities include providing technical, implementation, and post-implementation release support; providing automation, assembly, system, End-to-End, and CAT testing support. Consultant is to submit to the technical project manager a written monthly status report as part of this agreement and provide knowledge transfer to staff before end of contract. Senior Technical Specialist/Lead: Functions at the expert level performing analytical work in the design and development of architecture strategy, oversees the implementation of technical infrastructure and technology, and provides the architectural direction and guidance to enterprise systems, and may act in a lead capacity or may participate with other analysts on projects of a complex nature or broad scope. • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing architecture quality assurance for complex projects and initiatives; performing enterprise applications integration (EAI); defining and developing shared services architectures; designing and developing component architectures; and/or defining enterprise technology architectures; at least three (3) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility. • Must be able to analyze data and situations, identify and solve problems, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions. • Must be able to apply creative thinking in the design of methods for processing data. • Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types using different me   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
