The Information Analyst conducts analysis of business and user needs and then documents requirements with diverse levels of complexity. Working with business process teams and application system personnel, the Information Analyst identifies data sources, confirms conversion requirements, and resolves data mapping and data integrity issues. The Enterprise Data & Integration Service team supports the data delivery needs of a wide set of initiatives: Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence (DW/BI) projects These efforts involve gathering data from disparate systems for the purpose of reporting and analysis. Ensure project/solution success by: Identifying data quality issues that must be corrected in the source system Identifying issues that can be corrected in ETL processing Discovering unanticipated business rules Data conversion/migration for application modernization These efforts involve moving data from a legacy system to a new system. Reduce project risk by: Identifying data quality issues that must be handled in the code that moves data from the legacy system to the new system Identifying data issues that may require a change to the target (new) system Source system data quality & data consistency between applications These efforts assess and improve the data quality of a given source system, seeking to fix existing issues as well as avoid those issues in the future. Maximize project ROI by: Highlighting the areas within the system suffering from the most serious and/or numerous data quality issues Identifying issues that may be the result of bad user input or errant system interfaces Master data management projects These efforts support the enterprise master data system and structure which provides common, standard information used for enterprise level business activities and leads the data into the data warehouse for use in DW/BI. Maximize the value of MDM by: Cleaning up master data at source or creating a golden copy that acts as the single source of truth that is clean, consistent and semantically persistent across the enterprise for any use, including BI. Continuously improving the integrity of the authoring and management processes to prevent bad data from creeping into the business. Inter-enterprise data acquisition or sharing These efforts support inter-organizational systems to share data and maximize value: Understanding that partners have different viewpoints and definition of data; those viewpoints need to be reconciled Defining what information needs to be shared and creating flows to share it Sharing only that data critical to the collaboration process Ensuring integration continuity Strong understanding of data that is being shared with third parties Ensuring that data being sources from third parties maps appropriately with respective business processes that is using the data Responsibilities Analytical Data Evaluation & Quality Management: Demonstrates process and technology fluency with analytic applications Demonstrates ability to collect knowledge about information assets: where they are, what format they are in, what level of quality they represent, and their value to the enterprise.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
