Description:
s a UI Designer (Product), you will work to support a product team, helping to shape the strategy & experience of our financial products. In addition to supporting your product, designers will also work to support & evolve the design system. When delivered, your work will range from sketches to prototypes to high-fidelity mockups—focusing not on prescribed steps but what is right for the project. Applicants can expect a highly collaborative environment, working alongside other product designers, design technologists & UX researchers.

Requirements:-

· 3+ years working in design, with an emphasis on digital

· Excellent understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color theory, layout, etc.)

· Proficient with Sketch & Adobe CC applications

· Experience working in a product and/or Agile environments

· Experience building prototypes with tools such as InVision, Axure, Proto.io, Principle, etc

· Works substantially with little supervision or oversight to deliver key milestones

· Analyze and translate business requirements and user needs into intuitive and implementable designs.

· Effective oral and written communication skills along with logical, analytical and abstract thinking skills

· Provides clear concise communication with project team and mid-level management

· Participate in project design walkthroughs

· Collaborate with researchers & help execute tests & usability

· Ability to work in teams

· Create and communicate design solutions using wireframes and mock-ups

· Work within visual design language, pattern library & usage guidelines

· Actively participate in design critiques, stakeholder reviews & company-wide demos

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop product requirements and deliver features

· Create interaction patterns, workflows, screens & UI components that improve our software

· Maintain & extend Ameriprises visual design language, pattern libraries and usage guidelines

· Understand business requirements and objectives and help explain/clarify them for others

· Help improve the way the design team works from iteration to iteration

· A portfolio of sample work that clearly communicates successful customer/user-focused website and application solutions that drive business success.

Nice to have:

· Ability to deliver production-level HTML/CSS to our pattern library

· Experience working with Git (or other version control software)

· Experience working closely with UX researchers

· Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, experience & interface

· Understands & advocates for creating accessible software

· Experience working in the financial industry

Day to day responsibilities

· Actively collaborate & contribute to the larger product design team efforts

· Work with UX researchers to help deliver validated & tested work that enhances the Ameriprise client experience

· Aid design technologists & front-end developers to implement prototypes & completed designs into code (HTML, CSS & JavaScript)
