Responsible for working on medium to high architectual impact projects, recommending exceptions to the Enterprise Architecture for high level projects, reviewing and approving medium architectural impact designs, communicating the Enterprise Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams within their line of business or infrastructure sub-domain (organizational unit) and directing implementation of the architecture for their organizational unit. Serves as the highest-level technical consultant to internal clients and technical management to ensure conformity with Enterprise Architecture, having expertise across a broad portion of the organizational units architecture, or in-depth expertise within a more specific portion of the architecture.: 10+ years design and planning experience in systems, applications or IT Architecture. Senior Network Administrator: Manages the enterprise data and storage networks and systems to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, scalability, security, manageability and reliability. Essential Functions: Designs, configures, installs, maintains and supports lab network environments to meet the LOBs requirements for availability, performance, scalability, and security. Ensures designs and implementations include appropriate levels of redundancy and capabilities to support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) requirements. Maintains awareness of emerging networking technologies and best practices, industry trends and vendor strategies. Researches and evaluates new technologies / practices for applicability to the LOB, performance, reliability, cost, and recommends place in LOBs infrastructure strategy. Develops and executes proactive plans to ensure the timely replacement of aging equipment and the introduction of new technologies. Works with management and security personnel to assist in implementing and enforcing security policies. Provide systems and services to support network security such as: network access control, appropriate routing / switching design, centralized authentication, 802.1x, etc. Monitors and tunes performance at all layers of the network, participating in cross-functional teams and using workload analysis and other predictive tools to tune system for optimal performance. Participates in the capacity planning process. Actively participates in the resolution of network or other system and application issues or outages and maintains an appropriate suite of network monitoring and alerting tools to provide proactive notification of current or potential issues or outages. Creates and maintains comprehensive network documentation to assist in application and infrastructure design efforts as well as troubleshooting. Follows change management processes for all changes introduced into the environment. Responsible for storage network equipment and services, including but not limited to: disk provisioning, LUN presentation etc. Performs other duties and assists other staff as necessary or as directed by management. Operates under irregular work schedules as needed and provides off-hours operational support. Other duties as requested. Level of Expertise: Performs work with little to no direct supervision.
