Primary objective is to identify optimal networking and communications solutions that deliver long term capabilities, capacity, reliability and resiliency for the business units and clients to successfully maintain and grow their business operations. Senior level role responsible for development of professional level designs and documentation, establishing standard network configurations and overseeing the deployment of network solutions to clients and business units. Serves as subject matter expert in data networking technology and communications, and is senior level resource to internal staff and business leadership. Provides recommendations to the business and to clients for technological improvements, updates, changes and network conversions that drive higher efficiency, scalability and best in class use of technology. Responsible for performing analysis and research to identify potential risks and service issues throughout the network fabric, and makes recommendations for preventative or corrective action. Facilitates projects that address network–wide issues, and should be first tier expert for evaluating network for issues for fault tolerance, single points of failure and other risks to service capability. Overall responsibility for developing standards for network and connectivity solutions employed by the business. Serves as senior network leadership for network conversions, migrations and network-wide technology refreshes. Duties will include all aspects of planning, designing, researching with network vendors and establishing standards for the appropriate technology and configurations that will be utilized throughout business unit and client sites. This role frequently interfaces with external customers and business unit leadership, as well as involves making presentations of recommended data networking and communications solutions. JOB DUTIES – INCLUDES PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ONLY · Senior level role that involves understanding client and business unit requirements, and designing and deploying optimal networking and connectivity solutions that enable clients and business units to achieve their operational and business goals. · Required to prepare recommendations and supporting details for formal proposals for network connectivity and configurations. · Day-to-day interaction with telecom providers, equipment suppliers and 3rd party network vendors, to engage their technical resources to perform tasks. · Role sometimes requires scheduling and attendance on overnight maintenance windows. · Resource can expect to routinely be called upon to analyze and interpret traffic and utilization of services on network connections. · Participation in disaster recovery exercises, pre-production certification testing and troubleshooting events is expected. · Coordinate internal Fiserv operations to meet and exceed data communications project expectations (including but not limited to engineering/development, certifications testing, Network and IT Operations, capacity planning and production readiness. · Accountable for resolving all project level, cross-functional, partnership issues and escalations. · Manage partner/client expectations for data communications connectivity and related services to Fiserv products and applications, throughout project(s) lifecycle.
