Primarily responsible for administering and managing databases supporting custom and commercially developed applications. Design, implement and maintain complex database/system solutions Responsibilities may include installation, upgrades and optimization, backup/recovery, access control administration, database vendor contract administration, disaster recovery support, performance monitoring, development and test environment support, documentation, and infrastructure and methodologies improvements. Qualifications: Detailed knowledge of MS SQL Server2008 Integration Services (SSIS Packages) SQL Reporting Services Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. Hands-on SQL Server database tuning and troubleshooting experience Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems. Collaborate with developers to design complex features, data structures and database code. Review and approve data model designs developed by application developers. Maintain data models and keep them up to date. Performs problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing preventive techniques. Tune existing stored procedures (T-SQL) or write new stored procedures to improve performance or to resolve production issues. Ensure standardization of SQL coding practices and adherence to coding standards, change control, SQL best practices. Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; technical documentation skills Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Self- motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail 10+ years of software industry experience. 10+ years of experience in working as application DBA with a medium to large size development team using MS SQL Server. 5+ years of experience in designing applications using SQL server 2008 5+ and T-SQL development 10+ years of experience in data modeling and data architecture. 10+ years of experience in designing and developing a large scale data warehouse. 10+ years of experience in evaluating technology and design options and making recommendations to management. Microsoft certification MCITP (Database Administrator) is strongly preferred.
