The qualified applicant will become part of a major healthcare portal design/development project, supporting a leading Government Healthcare organization. The qualified applicant will design and build systems that are resilient to failure, highly scalable, and ever evolving. You will become the engineer who can advise on approach and architecture, while also rolling up your sleeves to design and implement continuous delivery capabilities. You will be the bridge between development and operations, and demonstrate technical knowledge, hands-on expertise and ruthless drive that enable you to provide continuous delivery solutions that improve business agility. Location: Woodlawn, MD Duration: Temp to Perm Compensation: Competitive based on education & years of relevant experience Roles and Responsibilities: Support a large federal government big data program in DevOps-related and supporting tasks working with a team of diverse engineers and administrators. Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) project aspects. Support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. May develop software configuration standards for program-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in a related technical field and a minimum of 5+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 3 plus years experience working in a Linux OS environment Experience implementing DevOps pipelines including automated build, quality and security check and automatic deployment Experience working in defect tracking databases Experience with Enterprise application development languages like Java/JEE Shell-scripting experience using Bash, Python, Ruby, or PERL Software deployment experience using Application Server administration: JBoss and/or Websphere configuration and maintenance, Apache and/or Apache Tomcat Experience in Virtualization with tools such as VMware, OpenStack or Linux KVM Experience working in a continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment using tools such as Jenkins Configuration Management: Experience with Puppet, Chef or Ansible Experience in Versioning: Subversion or Git Able to provide systems support in an enterprise production 24x7 environments, with rotating on-call duties, to include work on nights and weekends to provide operations support and accommodate customer needs for off-hours maintenance completion Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare or CMS specific experience Experience with Splunk, OMD and/or Nagios. Experience in Java and web-based application development. Experience in Hadoop environments.
