The job duties may include the following: -Installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle software and related products -Applying Oracle patches and updates to keep the database up-to-date and secure -Installing and configuring Oracle client software on Windows servers and workstations. -Performing database backups and recovery operations to ensure data availability and integrity -Monitoring database performance and capacity to ensure optimal performance and scalability -Troubleshooting and resolving database issues and errors -Developing and implementing database maintenance security policies and procedures to ensure data confidentiality and integrity -Designing and implementing database maintenance plans, including backup and recovery strategies, database optimization, and performance tuning -Managing database objects, including tables, indexes, and views, to ensure data consistency and availability -Providing technical support to application developers and end -users -Participating in database and system architecture design and planning activities -Documenting database configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures. -Developing and delivering training programs to existing team members on database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. -Conducting knowledge transfer sessions with team members to ensure that critical information is shared and retained within the team. In addition to the above responsibilities, this Oracle DBA may also be required to work with other IT teams, such as network and system administrators, to ensure the smooth operation of the database environment.
