Business Application Developer
Richmond, Virginia

Roles and Responsibilities:

Independently research and resolve from beginning to end any data and technical issues related to various applications and tools used extensively by sales, underwriting, marketing, claims, etc.
Use technical skills to develop tools and applications to support business objectives through management dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and facilitating process improvement and efficiency.
Provide consultative services to business/service units to thoroughly understand their needs and translate those needs into technical solutions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge in application development through proactive research and/or continuing education so as to achieve functional objectives.

Position Requirements:

Strong technical aptitude with proven expertise and minimum 2 years experience in web development programming including JavaScript.
Experience with AngularJS, Grails, and other web development programming languages preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to ask the right questions to fully understand business needs and to communicate technical information in a business friendly manner.
College degree in IT or analytical field preferred.
Flexibility in adapting to rapidly changing technical environment.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and creativity in developing business solutions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills.
