Description : Our Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Manager with 7 or more years of experience, capable of managing large, complex projects. Selected candidate will join our team of Project Managers and work in a very dynamic environment. Ideal candidate will be able to: 1. Manage the implementation of executive level, strategic initiatives. 2. Manage process improvement projects to standardize the use of enterprise-wide solutions used by 6,000+ employees. 3. Lead projects having a direct impact on communities, state-wide, such as COVID vaccination, COVID testing, or management of state and/or federal funded benefits, just to name a few. 4. Creatively leverage people, technology and processes to collaboratively and innovatively provide excellent service to DHS and to the State of Wisconsin. 5. Inspire and motivates staff by being a catalyst for creative problem solving, solution generation and implementation, and teamwork. Candidate must have great communication skills and high emotional intelligence. Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI framework. Works closely with project sponsor. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Understands business and technical objectives of a project. Builds an effective team. Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities. Creates and implements a communication plan. Creates project management artifacts such as project charter and work plan. Manages scope. Tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics. Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Professional certification is highly desirable. The Senior Project Manager provides project management services for priority initiatives in the Department of Health Services. This position is expected to lead and facilitate the successful completion of complex, enterprise- wide, highly visible projects in collaboration with DHS executive sponsors. This position facilitates the operational action and planning to achieve the Departments goals and strategies, managing the people, processes, and resources necessary to succeed. In this role, the Senior Project Manager is self-directed and builds consensus and understands the subject matter, complications, risks and opportunities for each project to facilitate the best outcomes. The Senior Project Manager serves as a strategic advisor, change maker, and facilitator to assure on-time, on- budget completion of major department projects with excellent outcomes and strong collaborative relationships. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, delivering key project management milestones and artifacts: • Project life cycle management (selection and initiation, planning, execution, closure). • Consulting, documentation, communication, coordination, and risk identification & management. • Estimating, tracking, measuring, status reporting and resource planning. • Development, implementation and improvement of standards, policies and processes related to project management, request management, project classification and prioritization. • Training, coaching, and mentoring department staff to help build project management skills and expertise.
