This includes service request and trouble ticket management to resolution. Assist in supporting the efficient utilization of all desktop hardware, software, and department printers. Assists in installing, monitoring and maintaining users desktop software and hardware, including the development and rollout of equipment, system images, hardware and software. Background: Accountable for assisting the team as it relates to the installation, operation, function, availability, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software, systems and peripherals. Accountable for working request and incident tickets. Perform other duties as specified by the Lead Level Engineers and Work Area Services manager. Tasks: Support desktop environments, to include desktop computers, monitors, printers, laptops, iPhones and iPads. Assist with the support of end user trouble tickets and support requests and close such tickets timely. Assist and interface with internal and external customers on an ongoing basis to ensure installed systems and applications are performing as required to meet the business objectives of the client. Assist with security patching of the department desktops on a regular patch cycle. Assist with testing and implementing new desktop technologies/strategies such as desktop virtualization and new versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Participate in the review of current desktop processes and assist with developing and implementing solutions to automate manual processes. Create and/or maintain and enhance desktop standard operation procedures; create project documentation for any new projects assigned. Required: Understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Ability to coordinate assigned tasks in line with department and company goals and objectives. With oversight by more-senior associates, ability to self-direct, work independently and demonstrate critical thinking capabilities. Possess strong working knowledge and understanding of Windows, desktop virtualization and desktop hardware. Strong analytical/problem solving skills Working knowledge of typical application life cycle development processes Strong troubleshooting skills Education & Experience: MCSA Certification in Windows 7 or 5 years related work experience. Preferred: Knowledge of Dell hardware and the ability to upgrade memory, replace hard drives and other components when necessary Basic understanding of deployment process for desktop images using Windows Deployment Services (WDS) Ability to readily understand and apply appropriate policies and procedures. Good working knowledge of desktop security best practices Strong work experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Visual Basic, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position successfully.
