REQUIRED SKILLS: -8+ years of development experience -4+ years object oriented software design and development experience using Ruby on Rails architecture -Hands-on experience with Ruby v2+ and Rails v4.2+ -4+ years of Javascript experience using tools such as jQuery; experience with backgroundsize, chosen, html5shiv, nwmatcher, respond, selectvizr is a plus -2+ years of CSS (aminate, chosen, foundation) -Demonstrated knowledge of HTML5; experience with JSON, YAML, XML, XSD highly desired -Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of SQL database such as PostgreSQL -Practical experience implementing test driven design strategies, including experience with mocking/simulating external services -Practical experience working with build frameworks and application platforms to include nignx, Jenkins, AWS/EC2, docker, Linux, Centos, RHEL, Fedora, Monit, postfix, openssl -Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle -Microsoft Office knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint NICE TO HAVE SKILLS: -Competence in frontend technologies JavaScript, CSS and HTML a huge plus -Experience with WebLogic Server 11g or higher -Knowledge of Spring WebFLow and/or MVC -Knowledge of Liferay Portal -Experience with Apache -Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting -Agile team experience RESPONSIBILITES: -Design, develop, and maintain code that meets requirements, is high quality, and performs efficiently and effectively to provide a great customer experience -Incorporate standards and best practices, including performance, security, usability, maintainability, and 508 standards -Participate in an agile team to deliver the full lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, development, testing and deployment -Recommend and implement refactoring of existing applications to incorporate best practices and improve user experiences -Troubleshoot development, deployment, and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms -Study the systems and components of our application to prepare for the next release -Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges -Continually work towards making improvements in the development process -Mentor junior engineers -You will work with our production operations team, development teams, program management, and our clients to lead and facilitate short term and long term actions to resolve defects and issues.
