Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for the oversight of design, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Demonstrates specific technological expertise in highly utilized application packages including but not limited to IBM InfoSphere (specifically DataStage Essential Requirement) , DB2, SOA and Websphere and XML and associated technogies. Additonal Responsibilities include Oversight of design and coding standards. Review software solution design documents to assure designs are in line with business requirements and technical standards Oversee process to sample review code deliveries to ensure alignment with best practice. Conduct review processes (e.g. design walk through, code review, unit or system test audit) to ensure deliveries are to quality. Provide input as required to solution architecture and system technology requirements including hardware, software, network bandwidth requirements. Ensure adequate architecture support is in place during unit and system test phases, have oversight on tools/techniques being employed to prevent failures, target and eradicate root cause for repeat failures Build and maintain constructive working relationships with delivery resources including partner organisations across architecture and build teams. Formalise solution software integration acceptance from partners and when necessary provide technical assistance to development teams Identify opportunities to deliver technology / architecture improvements in systems and initiate work to do so where cost-benefit justified. Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience and 6+ years experience leading and directing the work of others.
