Note: 1 + year contract remote for now but candidates are expected to be onsite in Syracuse, NY post covid.

Job Description:

Position: Technical Lead

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 1+ year

Position Description:

Our Client in Syracuse, NY is looking for a Technical Lead to join their team on a long term basis.

Day-to-day:

1. Define and coordinate the technical tasks for the configuration or development of the software and/or interfaces

2. Assist in budget for internal hardware/software

3. Create/Manage architecture diagrams/plans

4. Work with vendors

5. Serve as the interface between the developers, across all vendors and the project manager

6. Ensure the configuration or development meets the desired outcome

7. Has strong technical skills and often develops the architecturally significant components of the software system and/or interfaces

8. Ensure all the developers understand the big picture because their work has implications

9. Know the status of the development work and detect slippage

10. Communicate technical issues/decisions effectively to PM and Sponsor by using business terms

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define Technical Roadmap, from collaboration with relevant parties/vendors, based on current state conceptual design

2. Initiate the future state design, identifying:

a. Decisions Needed

b. Concerns

c. Risks, with mitigation strategy and plan

3. Understand Interfaces, hardware requirements/needs, identify and ensure dependencies defined and met to ensure connectivity and all integration, functions, inputs/outputs are delivered.

4. Identify key test strategy requirements and/or focus areas.

Required Skills:

1. Strong prior experience/knowledge in software development

2. Strong prior experience/knowledge in database development

3. Strong understanding of software architecture

Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role):

1. Meter Data Services

2. Prior experience as a Solutions Architect
