Requires extensive knowledge of and experience with desktop technology including, but not limited to, desktop operating systems, desktop applications, desktop hardware, laptop systems, desktop printer support, PDAs, Black Berries, other supported wireless devices, and peripherals. This Title receives escalated level support issues from helpdesk and Enterprise Support Center. Has 4-7 years of experience in Desktop Support. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. The Wisconsin Electronic Disease Surveillance System (WEDSS) is a critical preparedness and communicable disease system used by all Wisconsin local health departments and infection preventionists reporting communicable disease on behalf of Wisconsin hospitals and clinic systems throughout the state for case reporting, case management, surveillance, dispensary, and case notification of communicable disease. Data collected by this system includes Patient identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI), contact information and, depending on the disease, occupational and social data. WEDSS is the system of record for the State of Wisconsin in the effort to track the COVID-19 outbreak. The Informatics Architecture Section, which maintains WEDSS, is looking to add a staff member in a support and training role. The Desktop Support 2 position will provide system support to eligible providers, hospitals, and health departments for tracking and reporting on COVID-19 cases, and train volunteers loaned to us from other areas on merging, staging, new account set ups and other required functions as needed. Comments: Work schedule will include one weekend day. The position will start out remote and eventually move on-site as the state opens up.
