.Net Web Developer III

This position is primarily to work on a high-profile web application project within the FSE section of DCF. This project is already underway, and the candidate will be joining an existing team. The project includes .NET MVC web applications with heavy use of JavaScript, jQuery, and Kendo UI components. The project involves modernization of an Oracle/DB2 mainframe application to a web application using JavaScript UI, ASP.NET MVC with C#, WebAPI, n-tier architecture and SQL Server. This developer will work on other projects as needed.

The person in this position will work closely with the team in designing and developing the front end and server side of the web application. Project duties include requirements analysis, design, front-end and back-end web application development, testing, participation in interactive code reviews, and development using JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.NET MVC with C#, and SQL Server. Expectations for this position are development of quality code using TDD, participation in active code reviews, sharing expertise, respectful communication, transparency, technical documentation, and the ability to perform production support. The candidate should have strong communication skills and should be a team player.
Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and TFS continuous integration is required.
Solid coding experience using TDD is required.

Interview Process:

Phone and web-based interviews will be acceptable. However, an in-person interview may be required based on current guidelines. Interviews will be set up shortly after the posting close date.


Duration: 6/30/2023, with the potential to extend

Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidates expense.

• An in-person interview may be required before a final hire is made. The hiring manager has discretion to allow phone or Skype interviews at any point during the process.

• This position is for an onsite position in Madison, WI.

• The selected candidate will be required to sign all onboarding documents as part of the onboarding process. Candidate will also be required to complete any security training as directed by the division, department, or agency.

• This position is budgeted for 1960 hours annually. Hours will be prorated the first year based on start date.
• Suppliers must disclose any/all levels of sub-contracting and their respective supplier name(s).
• DCF does not sponsor work visas, either at the time of hire or at any later date.
• In coordination with the “Safer At Home” guidelines, contracted staff will work with their manger to access work remotely as needed temporarily. However, contract staff will be required to return to the home office (Madison, WI) for regular business hours as restrictions allow.
• Contract staff may be required to provide personal equipment for remote work while “Safer At Home” guidelines are in effect.
• Selected candidate must provide copies of any/all certifications as part of the hiring process.
