Description: we need to remove legacy Optimal J Code in order to move forward with updating the application to the latest version of Java. Background The Department of Childrens Services existing child tracking system (TFACTS) is using an outdated MDA framework called Optimal J (OJ). This framework was discontinued over 11 years ago. It was based on Java, but it only works with Java 7 and earlier. It cannot be upgraded to Java 8 or beyond. Java 7 will be unsupported after June of 2021 and the department must remove the legacy OJ code in order to move forward with additional application updates. The business layer will continue to be Java code, but the data layer will be converted over to Oracle stored procedures. This project needs to be completed as quickly as possible in order allow for the entire TFACTS system to be updated to the latest version of Java before June of 2021. Identified Technical Qualifications for this SOW: • Java 1.7 experience • Struts 1.1 experience • Full understanding of EJBs (i.e., creation, usage, transactions, etc) • Experience with writing Oracle packages and stored procedures • Is a quick learner when it comes to new programming languages and/or programming frameworks   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
