Description: Come join the Starbucks Enterprise Information Architecture Team (EIA)! We are building new experiences for our customers. Supporting the emerging information architecture team you will be working to create the detailed information design for our newest systems. This work will be supporting a large team in a transformational effort. Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects This CW will be reporting to the architect manager of Information Architecture, ultimately rolling up to the Business Intelligence and Data Services organization for Starbucks. The team is composed of a mixed bag of partners and non-partners. Were looking for someone to provide a level of expertise that is not currently available on the team. Typical Day in the Role Design Development Participate in driving design from requirements. Turn requirements in to actionable data models for implementation Partner with developers to support the use of the data model designs. Ensure that the designs captured in the data models are included with the long term documentation of the systems Ensure the data models adhere to relevant standards. Partner with multiple business groups to ensure that requirements are correctly understood and reflected in designs. Identify gaps where standards or guidelines are missing in the support of system development Use the standard processes and repositories for the management of the designs as captured in data models. Candidate Requirements Ability to actively engage and lead conceptual and logical model development with a team of functional analysts and developers, this is essential. Deep understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling Experience to create models that reflect business needs and constraints while serving as a starting place for the future. Experience to interact with business users and stakeholders to drive designs from requirements. Experience to interact with technical staff and developers in implementation of a system. Experience in working with Idera Data Architect, Business Architect, and Team Server to create and manage models. Ability to work within and help deploy a process for the regular release of information models. Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities Ability to influence and coordinate with the efforts of EIA team, technology partners, and business partners Ability to work effectively in self-directed manner Strong oral and written communication skills enabling the persuasive presentation of proposed solutions Ability to collaborate and drive consensus across a diverse group of customers with conflicting priorities Basic Qualifications Computer Science degree or equivalent professional experience Logical data modeling – 5 years Conceptual data modeling – 5 years Experience with structured data modeling tool (ER Studio preferred) – 5 years Experience working with large teams in data modeling – 10 years Experience with both standard relational and dimensional modeling – 5 years Top 3 must-have hard skills Logical data modeling – 5 years Conceptual data modeling – 5 years Experience working with large teams in data modeling – 10 years   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
