Description: The Database Architect will focus on database design and the ongoing support and administrationof Oracle and SQL databases for DCF developmentwork for Agency programs and COTS applications.The DBA will be required to lead numerous projects and initiatives. The DBAshould be an expert at Oracle Database management and must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems,data warehouses and multidimensional databases.The candidate will have support responsibilities for SQL databases and should have knowledge of SQL functions and tools.This role requires interaction with a cross-functionalteam of technology and business professionals including infrastructure, application development,business partners, and 3rd party subject matterexperts to ensure that solutions are planned,developed, deployed, and maintained in accordancewith the Department of Children and Familyssecurity, policies, and business requirements. Tasks and responsibilities: • Team lead responsibilities for projects and initiatives. • This role requires experience to be with Oracle 19c, and 12c, Oracle Management tools, and data expert level migration experience is required. • High level knowledge and experience in relational database services including Microsoft SQL Server services and the tools used to support the diverse environment. • The candidate will analyze and model data requirements, application, and processing • architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then design, develop, amend, • optimize, and certify database schema design tomeet system(s) requirements. • Understand Oracle Star Schema within our Oracle data Warehouse environments. • The candidate will be required to implement andmaintain the database designs, create databaseobjects (tables, indexes, etc.) • The applicant must be capable of creating Shellscripts and packages, provide recommendations forperformance monitoring and tuning, understand thecomplexities with change management in SoftwareDevelopment Life Cycles. • Knowledge of DBMS implementationto help with formal design ofnew and existing databases. • The applicant should be familiar with a variety ofthe fields concepts, practices, and procedures andprovide insight into strategic data manipulation. • Develop database level monitoring for applicationrelated issues and tune database queries to findefficiencies. • Proactively diagnose and work with application developers to resolve application SQL or Oracleperformance issues using available tools. Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications: A variety of tasks are performedanda wide degree of creativity and latitude isexpected.
