SCOPE OF POSITION: The Business Intelligence Programmer Lead is responsible for both performing and leading team members through design, development, testing, and analysis of data extract solutions using SQL Server, T-SQL and SSIS. The ideal candidate will have a highly intuitive understanding of relational databases, ETL processes, and logical reasoning. This individual will work with Business Analysts and internal customers to understand and analyze requirements and develop and implement ETL solutions. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data and applications through detailed analysis, efficient coding, writing clear documentation, and prompt identification and resolution of problems as they arise. The Business Intelligence Programmer Lead will work proactively to analyze, identify, and interpret problems, and to develop and implement measures to solve them. The Business Intelligence Programmer Lead will assist in developing standards and methodologies and assist in ensuring that they are adhered to. Experience in developing SSIS to best practices is a must. Requirement: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related IT field or a certification from technical school or equivalent directly related work experience 7+ years experience with database management systems, ETL systems, business intelligence tools, and systems. Development experience in the following: .NET Development Language (VB.NET or C#); .NET Framework (1.1, 2.0, or 3.0); SQL Development (PL/SQL or T-SQL); Technical Documentation; ETL Technologies Demonstrated experience solving complex scenarios utilizing SQL Language with both PL/SQL and T-SQL Demonstrated experience in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence concepts and maintenance utilizing MSSQL and Oracle databases and SSIS Demonstrated experience in Data Warehouse development concepts (Data Modeling, Database Administration, Performance Tuning) Solid understanding of data retrieval, transformation, and data warehousing architectural approaches Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build consensus and agreement and bring resolution to contentious issues and entrenched interests. Proven ability to lead problem-solving discussions. Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects concurrently. Extensive PC skills including Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Additional Skills: Top three: SQL Server Integration Services MUST HAVE SQL for Oracle Visual Basic Minimum 5 years experience in the following technologies: (MS SQL Server or ORACLE) Relational Database Development ETL processes in general, with at least 3 in SSIS in particular SQL Language (T-SQL/PS-SQL) Preferred 3+ years experience in the following technologies: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Demonstrated experience building analysis tools and reports that take advantage of OLAP/Dimensional Modeling capabilities.
