Additional Skills : Job Description : Contract ETL Developer Description ETL Developer - Contractor (Data Quality ETL Developer) Seeking a contractor to fill an ETL Developer position in a financial Data Quality Management team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ETL/EDQ Developer is responsible for the definition, design, development, testing and maintenance of the processes and programs necessary to extract, transform, load and distribute data from the clients operational databases/files to the Data Quality Departments staging databases or other approved destinations. The ETL/EDQ Developer is experienced with all the techniques used to manage and maintain a data warehouse environment. The ETL/EDQ Developer defines the program specifications for the data migration processes, as well as the necessary test plans used to ensure successful execution. The ETL/EDQ Developer is also responsible for managing the metadata associated with the ETL processes used to populate the data warehouse. Knowledge of data warehousing ETL procedures such as changing dimension strategies and use of surrogate values is a necessity. The ETL/EDQ Developer is also responsible to deploy data quality rules in the production environment and support the associated staging of data or create database tables, views, functions, etc. The ETL/EDQ Developer will document and provide guidance to the Data Quality Management team on technical best practices. Job Responsibilities: Design/review, develop and test ETL processes consistent with application architecture and security guidelines Design error-processing, notification and logging routines Create/manage batch processes Access disparate data sources (databases, hardware devices, and flat files) and apply internal and external business rules, policies and data quality measures Ensure the data is safely and securely transferred to target destinations Gather mapping and reporting requirements and coordinate all data movement activities Analyze business requirements as they relate to the ETL or EDQ processes Evaluate submitted data quality management code and research, evaluate and recommend alternative solutions if necessary Develop Modeling and design specifications as required Transform business requirements into technical requirement documents Analyze, develop, install, test, upgrade, maintain and support complex data/process models, and processes in an ETL environment Implement and maintain the software tools and environments used by the ETL/EDQ Developers. Provide project estimates, plans, and schedules Work productively in a team environment Communicate effectively with business and IT staff across functional departments Work with management and staff to establish best practice standards for ETL/EDQ functions. Lead development of new methodologies for supporting data transformations and processing in a corporate-wide Data Governance / Data Quality rule development solution Provide after business hours support for production systems Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards and provide technical direction to management and users Provide technical direction to other team members including contractors and employees May review the BA requirements and evaluate if need to recommend alternate solutions May perform data modeling, analysis and validation. Maintain Business Object Universes and build Business Objects reports Performs other duties, as assigned.
