Conducting an assessment of the current reporting needs will assist in creating the overall BI vision. This role will also support and implement subsequent data projects or tool selection that meet requirements. Incumbent typically reports to the Application Systems Analyst and Programmer Supervisor for Data Services, or higher level staff. Representative duties: Evaluate and refine current data management and data governance strategies and polices; Write an assessment detailing current reporting environment by understanding business and technical pain points and needs; Work directly with business leaders and end users to define requirements for BI, analytics and reporting; Review existing data warehouse solution currently maintained by another agency; Develop a roadmap to achieve the BI vision which includes reporting, data/predictive analytics, and potential data warehouse for child support data; Determine staff skills, tools, and processes necessary for BI success; Identify and provide direction on BI tools that will have an impact on the BI strategy; Provide guidance and process assistance to data clean-up project; Provide technical coaching and cross training to members; Develop business cases and ROI for data projects or tools; Translate business requirements into design specifications that will be used to drive data store, data warehouse, and data mart design and configuration; Establish architectural standards and components to support the integration of multiple data sources, and ability to quickly on board new data sources; Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various sources; Provide design, development, testing, and implementation support for overall solution which may include creating dashboards and operational reports; Provide advanced data validation rules and capabilities to standardize operational data; Perform related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree in technology or minimum 5 years experience designing, developing and implementing enterprise reporting systems. BI related certifications a plus; Advanced knowledge of database technology and DMBOK; Advanced knowledge of BI-specific software, analytics programs, and reporting tools; Advanced knowledge of online analytical processing (OLAP) and data cube technologies; Advanced knowledge of data modeling, data manipulation, architecture and design of BI solutions, data marts and data warehouses; Advanced knowledge of ETL tools; Advanced communication, collaboration, and presentation skills including the creation of formal documentation; Thorough knowledge of Data Lakes and Logical Data Warehouse; Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycles/methodologies; Strong problem solving, time management, and organizational skills; Ability to work independently under general direction and manage multiple priorities.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
