Apply engineering principles to improve electronic components. This includes the development of concepts to improve operation of components and the analysis of associated technical problems. Manage considerable complexity while working with minimum of supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Help the Daimler Truck Technical Support Group with backlog of dealer request tickets from dealer technicians. • Help the Daimler Truck Technical Support Group with backlog of Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) request tickets from TEM technicians • Escalate systemic field issues with Service Engineering. • Submit requests for documentation needing amendments • Maintains clean and safe work area. • Exchanges information with colleagues. Required background experience and skills: • BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related experience. • 2-4 years of previous work experience with vehicle electronic components and wiring. • Good oral, presentation, and written communication skills. • Knowledge of the basic principles of vehicle mechanical functions, preferably heavy duty vehicles. • Interpersonal skills. • Proficient PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet software. • Domestic and foreign travel. • Analytical skills. • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. • Experience with electronic vehicle components and systems, and wiring schematics and troubleshooting. • Experience with instrumentation for making electrical, mechanical, thermodynamic, noise, and emissions measurements. • Knowledge of engine controls, dynamics, vibration, and acoustics. Notes : They will be monitoring our inbound ticket log; picking up tickets/prioritizing tickets based on urgency, and will start working on the highest priority tickets. They will primarily be emailing and/or calling the dealers back with the information they are requesting.
