This person must monitor mainframe network performance and identify and make adjustments as necessary to maintain peak mainframe network performance. Strong problem diagnostics skills are a must. The candidates must be able to work with customers and vendors in resolving network connectivity issues, file transfer issues, and any other mainframe network related issues. Responsibilities include active participation in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documenting, and experience in this area would be desirable. The candidates must be able to work with other internal support groups, insuring the environment is capable of providing service as changing requirements dictate. The candidates must possess not only technical expertise, but also effective oral and written communications skills, plus good organizational skills. The candidates must be effective working independently and with others with minimal supervision. Duties may also include serving as a mentor to other z/OS Systems Programmers. This position requires a minimum of 8 years hands-on experience performing z/OS Communications Server duties. Areas of focus: • zOS Networking: • Provides overall management, planning, designs, configuration, and implementation activity for Mainframe networking • Implements and supports secure transfer methods to/from the mainframe • Maintains mainframe network security policies • Advises other systems programmers and other technical users or clients on requirements related to mainframe networking. This includes but is not limited to mainframe connectivity, mainframe network security, and mainframe file transfers • Provides SSL/TLS certificate management, which includes but is not limited to: monitoring impending expiration dates, generating certificate requests, receiving and installing issued certificates, and confirming certificates validity. Required Skills: • At least 8 years of experience as a zOS Systems Programmer leading other Systems Programmers to complete projects • At least 8 years of experience with z/OS Communications Server – VTAM and TCP/IP • FTP/SFTP • IP Connectivity • z/OSMF Configuration Assistant and the IPSEC (IP filtering only), AT-TLS, and IDS perspectives • Basic mainframe skills & knowledge with TSO/ISPF/SDSF/JCL Desired Skills: • Z/OS UNIX • OSA adapters • OMPROUTE/OSPF • Enterprise Extender • Dovetails Co:Z SFTP • NetView • Disaster Recovery   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
