The essential duties and responsibilities include: • Utilize forest- and domain-level Active Directory knowledge to plan and execute domain migration tasks • Use standard Microsoft tools to migrate user accounts, computer accounts, Group Policy objects and configurations, and more as we collapse 2 trusted domains into an existing primary domain • Work with VMware and Microsoft tools to build new virtual servers in a vSphere environment • Assist outside technical experts in the setup and migration of application servers from trusted domain servers onto new VMs joined to the primary domain • Closely coordinate changes with FCDC infrastructure team members, including using assigned change management tools and methods • Devise server and Active Directory migration plans, including step-by-step procedures that minimize downtime and maximize the odds of upgrade success • Plan Active Directory, Windows Server, and application server migrations and outages in collaboration with peers, application owners and users • Build graphical and written network documentation for technical peers; documentation will cover Active Directory changes, server configurations, and unique application server configurations • Actively utilizes incident management system and resolves server- and domain-specific incident escalations • All other duties as assigned -- within the scope of vSphere, Active Directory, and Windows Server support Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities expected of successful candidates. Education • Preferred: 2-year (Associates) or 4-year (Bachelors) degree from an accredited college or university • Required: High school education and diploma Work Experience • Preferred: 8+ years hands-on virtualized Windows Server and Active Directory engineering Page 3 of 3 and/or senior-level consulting experience in a business or government environment with specific experience in multi-domain Active Directory operations using Microsoft tools. • Required: 4+ years hands-on virtualized Windows Server and Active Directory engineering and/or administration experience in a business or government environment with specific experience in multi-domain Active Directory operations using Microsoft tools.
