Designs and develops written and/or visual product-related information hard copy, web - (e.g., user/configuration/troubleshooting guides), and online information (interactive demos, help systems) integrated into product, fora variety of audiences (end user, system administrators, internal support engineers, product developers, training developers). Codes, builds, compiles, and tests online information and/or sets-up, loads and tests systems hardware to create information deliverables and provide feedback on ease of use and user interfaces to product development. As customer advocate, helps define/refine product requirements. Develops standards and style documents and templates, scripts, style sheets, and script and graphic libraries to ensure common look and feel. Interfaces with cross-functional areas as a member of the product development team, such as marketing, test, support, and manufacturing.Education and Experience: Typically a First Level University degree in Technical Communications, Computer Science or related technical/communications field and a minimum of 8 PLus years related experience or an Advanced University degree and a minimum of 6 years experience or equivalent. Knowledge of tools and technologies relevant throughout the division or across divisions. Represents company in professional associations, e.g., STC, ASM-SIGDOC, IEEE, technology standards committees such as DocBook Standards Committee. Requirements 5+ years of technical publications writing experience in the software industry Experience producing admin guides, user guides, and release notes Expertise documenting appliances Experience with and willingness to work within documentation standards and guidelines Ability to quickly learn and clearly write about complex technical details Expertise with FrameMaker, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, RoboHelp, and Word Experience with code repository systems, such as Git Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements Effectiveness at planning documentation deliverables, including estimation of the size and scope of the deliverables Experience developing documentation within an agile scrum environment Willingness and ability to learn and understand new products and technology Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Technical Communication, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience Additional experience in the following areas is highly desirable: Familiarity with encryption or security-related software Experience with Agile project management software, such as Rally Experience writing SDK and API documentation for a developer audience Experience with Doxygen and JavaDoc Experience creating marketing collateral such as data sheets and white papers   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
